What it does
Reads the body
Hips, shoulders, hands and head are tracked through the swing, then compared against a reference sequence scaled to your player's size.
Practice, and then a test
Live practice gives a cue after every swing — the lesson, as it happens. Structured Analysis is the opposite: three sets of fifteen off a tee or a machine, run silent, no coaching, with rest between sets so the numbers measure consistency instead of fatigue. It ends in a report. Both are included, and neither costs extra.

A batting order you can spin, a second screen for the kid at the plate. Made for a tee in the driveway and a cage on a Tuesday, not a lab.
Keeps the season
Every session is saved on the device, so March and July sit side by side. Nothing gets lost in the camera roll, and nothing eats gigabytes of your storage — a hundred swings is about the size of three photos.
There is no hardware to buy
A radar gun runs $200 to $900. A bat sensor is another purchase, another battery, another thing to lose in the equipment bag. KidSwing runs on the phone already in your pocket.
- The camera — an iPhone 11 or newer, or a recent iPad. The 240fps slow motion those already have is what makes this work.
- The second screen — any phone at all, including the old one in a drawer. It shows the kid their feedback at the plate, and it is free on every plan, forever.
- Apple Watch, coming — a camera sees shape, a watch feels motion, and the part of a swing that happens too fast and too close to the body is exactly what the side view misses. If you already wear one, it will be a free update. If you do not, nothing is missing.
No video is ever created.
The camera feed becomes position data on the device and is discarded frame by frame. There is no recording to leak, delete or subpoena — not as a setting you switch on, but as a consequence of how the app is built. Most swing apps upload your child's video to an AI service and send back a result. KidSwing does the measuring on the device in your hands, and there is no video for anything to be done with.
No account, no sign-in
There is nothing to create and no password to lose. The app does not know your name, your child's name, or that you exist. Names you type stay on the device.
The data is yours, and you can take it
Export any player's history whenever you want — measurements, sessions, the lot. Export is not a paid feature and it never will be. Getting your own numbers out of the app is not something anyone should have to buy.
A lapsed subscription never locks your history
If a coach stops paying, the seasons already recorded stay readable and exportable. New sessions pause. What you already made stays yours. Nothing is held for ransom.
On the device means on the device
The honest trade: nothing is copied anywhere unless you ask for it, so deleting the app deletes the history with it. That is the same fact as the promise above, seen from the other side — and it is why export exists, and why Season Pass does.

A report every quarter that says what to work on next — written from your own player's numbers, not a template. Need one before a tournament? Run it. There is no cap and no extra charge.
Someone is watching the trend
A single session tells you about a single day. Four months of sessions tell you whether the hands are getting quicker or the head is drifting more than it did in March. The quarterly report reads the whole span and names the one or two things worth practising.
Ask for one whenever you want
Before tryouts, after a slump, the week a new coach takes over. Reports are not rationed and they do not cost extra — the quarterly one just means you never have to remember to ask.
The season survives the hardware
A new phone, a cracked screen, a tablet handed down to a sibling. Your player's history is kept off the device too, so four years of development do not end with a trade-in.
See where they actually stand
Compare against other players in the same age band, if you want to. It is a choice you make rather than a default you discover — leave it off and your numbers stay only yours.
What gets sent: numbers. Swing measurements, session dates, and the player profile you typed in. No video, because none was ever made — the analysis already happened on your device before the subscription was ever involved.
